Watch for the Light, God said long ago,
the Light that will come with a heavenly glow.
Watch for the Light though the darkness grows long.
for the Light will appear with a star and a song.

The shepherds watched over the flocks that dark night,
until brilliance shattered it with a great light.
The angels proclaimed the Savior's birth
and the great news rang through all the earth.

The shepherds made haste, could it be really true,
that a Babe in a manger could make all things new?
Jesus came at great cost. For the Father of love,
sent Him for us all from heaven above.

The wise men were watching and saw a bright star.
They followed it surely, led from afar.
When they saw the Child, they knew it was true.
A Savior was born and the whole world made new.

Watch for the Light, the Lord still speaks today,
though darkness surrounds and hinders our way.
The Light still shines bright for those who will see.
God is with us forever, so pure and so free.

Let us give thanks to God for the Light He has given.
Jesus shows us the way from earth into heaven.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Way and the Light.
Praise God for Him always who makes all things right!
