Thanks be to God, for that wondrous Gift given
on a night long ago sent with love straight from heaven!
Thanks be to God, for the Baby's soft cry
that signaled the world with bright lights in the sky.
Thanks be to You, Lord, for this marvelous Love
that you showed to us all giving Life from above.

Thanks be to God, for touching the poor
as the shepherds at work saw you open heaven's door.
Thanks be to God, for the angelic host
proclaiming Good News to the least and the lost.
Thanks be to You, Lord, for those who believed.
They ran to the manger and by Christ were received.

Thanks be to God, for revealing your star
to those wise men who lived in a country afar.
Thanks be to God, that they knew that a King
was soon to be born who could make their hearts sing.
Thanks be to You, Lord, that they left all behind
and made that long journey, the Christ Child to find.

Thanks be to God, that this Gift is still given.
It is sent every day with deep love straight from heaven.
Thanks be to God, that all those who believe
can come to Christ Jesus and He will receive.
Thanks be to You, Lord, our Savior and King
You forgive all our sin and cause us to sing.

Thanks be to You, Lord, our Eternal Light,
who leads us, cares for us in our darkest night.
God with us in joy. God with us in pain.
Emmanuel, You will always remain.
